TEHRAN Except Tous newspaper no other newspaper or magazine has been closed down, an informed source in the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance told the TEHRAN TIMES. The AP in a dispatch from Tehran yesterday said that two weekly newspapers, Rah-e Nou and Tavana were closed down. Also some Persian dailies reported that Iran Farda the organ of Iran Freedom Movement and Aban weekly newspaper were shut down.

The source said the ministry has only warned the said newspapers to abide by law. The daily Tous was shut down last week for violating rules and regulations and undermining national security, a statement by Revolutionary Court said. The editor and some members of its managerial board have been arrested.
